This collection consists of a microfilm copy of records from the Mayor's Court of Common Pleas in Savannah, Georgia, including petitions, 1805-1806 and 1821; writs, 1797-1798; and judgments and stays of execution, 1825-1873. The records appear as the 1st collection on the microfilm roll X-1545-02; this roll includes materials from multiple collections. These records were microfilmed by the Georgia Department of Archives and History in 1959.

In 1819, the Georgia legislature expanded the Mayor's Court into the Court of Common Pleas and Oyer and Terminer for the City of Savannah. This change included the election of the Judge, Clerk, and Solicitor by the city's citizens, rather than by appointment. In 1853, the name changed to the City Court of Savannah.
